About the Author
I’m writing my own bio here so as not to insult you by omitting the obvious fact that nearly everyone writes their own bio, yet does it in the awkward third person. I might as well start in the middle. In High School, I came in second in the voting for “Most Likely to Succeed.†The guy who won was on a double recruiting trip for an athletic and academic scholarship to a major private university. I was the MC of the event and had to announce my own consolation. I did not grow up in back to the wall poverty. I did not overcome abuse. I have had my obstacles and some that may impress you, but none that you likely haven’t a comparable for. I grew up the son of two loving and present parents. My father is to this day a world class salesman, and my mother is still an awe inspiring elementary teacher. I had no choice in it. I was wired and groomed for teaching and selling and I wouldn’t have it any other way. My journey as an entrepreneur started as a high end sno-cone dealer on the hard streets of upper middle class Northwest Houston. In elementary school, I sold candy to the safety patrol and crossing guards. In junior high I stepped up my game and sold pens, bracelets, t-shirts and then cigarettes. In high school I mowed yards, owned vending machines and worked in my father’s business as a delivery driver slash substitute customer care and sales rep. In college and later Seminary I invested in real estate and sold houses for anyone who would hire me. I bought a national real estate franchise at 23 and learned many valuable lessons. Later we built an independent brokerage from the ground up based on observations of a broken industry and business model. We obsess over delivering a world class client experience and providing world class opportunities for our team members. I care deeply for people and believe that this is the key to our success. I love Jesus, my wife, my children, extended family, and friends. I’d rather read a non-fiction book or listen to a successful person speak than watch TV. My faith in Jesus informs my life and I have a passion for sharing it. I especially enjoy teaching, training, and adventures with young men who are looking for purpose and meaning in life. I own and run an incredible real estate sales business in the Dallas Fort Worth, TX area called The Todd Tramonte Home Selling Team as well a deliberately small real estate coaching & consulting company called Real Estate Growth Systems.

I have heard great things about the Todd Tramonte Team, but never have met Todd. This book made me feel like he had me pull up a chair in his office so he could teach me some amazing lessons in Real Estate and life. There is so much truth and wisdom in the 12 truths! I liked them even more than the 5 lies (but those held lots of truth too!) I really enjoyed the "expert interviews" interspersed in this book, the links to online resources, and tools to implement the goals he is suggesting. A lovely and generous surprise was at the end of the book! It is obvious Todd has a heart for those that are willing to put in the work to be the best in the Real Estate Industry. Can't wait to take the next step!!
This is a Fabulous book and will Save every Agent Time & $’s. It points you to What is successful for New Agentsand What to Spend your precious time and money on and what not to do when starting out. For Seasoned Agents, it has many suggestions for how to Improve and increase your business and bottom line. A Great tool for team memembers and as a training tool. Much more expensive books will not help you as much as this one! The author knows his Subject and shares it with you in an easy and fun Read.
I read the initial version when it was the "5 Lies That Will Ruin Your Real Estate Career." Todd has added value with the second section about the Simple and Complex Truth. This section will arm anyone in real estate or business with the tools they need right out of the gate to be successful. There is no magic wand but with hard work and the resources (tons of bonus information) you will be able to start and finish strong.
Excellent insight on the truth about the real estate AND brokerage business! I called 'foul' about 2 years into running a brokerage with a ton of agents on high splits and little profit. Commissions should be based on share, not split. We reached a tipping point with the old models years ago. Real estate is hard work that requires structure, systems, broker support & an innovative company behind you. Way to go Todd!
Great book, packed with practical tips and strategies on how to build successful real estate business. I sincerely appreciate this book. Evey new agent, perhaps some seasoned as well, a must have this book in his/her arsenal, and learn how to give your buyers and sellers unforgettable experience.
Bought a 2nd book for my first new hire as a mandatory read. Thanks Todd for being totally real about what it takes in this business and providing tons of value in doing so. This book is no-brainer of a purchase. Highly recommend.
While the book does contain some helpful knowledge, there are countless grammatical errors. I also found the author’s constant change in diction confusing. There is a lot of repetition that I do not think was needed.If you’re going to spend money on a professional book to aid you in a real estate career, I would try another author.
As an outsider, I have always heard things like “you have a great personality you should do real estateâ€. It is shocking how many people believe this lie. Todd shows why these are lies and what it takes to be a real estate agent.
