If you are a parent, a teacher or a therapist of someone with Down's Syndrome, this is an important reference book for your daily use. It is a helper for those of us who want and expect a limitless world for those with Trisomy 21.
Hi everyone,This book is THE BEST BOOK ON THE MARKET ON THIS SUBJECT. It provides parents with information that they really need, hands on and informative. I have a child with down syndrome, she is 12 now. I am pretty confident that this book is the reason that she is the way she is today. The book takes all of the developmental milestones and breaks them down into little pieces to tell you what your baby should be doing in any given month (compared to typical babies) and then,,,,,here is the good part.... then, the book tells you how to help them achieve that milestone. From speech to feeding to gross motor and fine motor to cognitive development, this is the most hopeful and lovely book out there. And by the way, if you are a new parent of a child with down syndrome.....many books are nothing but depressing. Your child has more potential than you can imagine....and this books helps teach you draw it out of your child. Most of the time it is there and you can help draw it out or be much more knowledgeable when working with therapists or doctors. I LOVE THIS BOOK. Thank you to the authors for writing it.
